Peoples Bank is a local, family-owned bank led by John P. Rigler II and John P. Rigler III. The father-son team are the third and fourth generations of an Iowa banking family that began in 1937 when the first John Rigler started a bank in New Hampton, IA. At one point, the family controlled 17 bank offices in northeast and Central Iowa. In 2018, the Riglers acquired Peoples Bank and subsequently launched several unique initiatives, reflecting a more progressive vision that embraces innovative ideas and solutions. Two hallmark initiatives include The GIANT PIGGY BANKTM, a unique approach to 'children's first banking' and financial literacy, and Power Up @ Peoples, an initiative that placed a significant investment in solar energy across eight of the nine bank branches. Rooted in Iowa and taking pride in being community-minded and customer-focused, the Rigler family represents a long-term commitment to the bank's customers and a strong foundation for the future.
