Ashley Brelsford Continues to Serve her Hometown
Ashley Brelsford has an affinity for community.
Brelsford, branch operations manager at the Peoples Bank branch in Rippey, grew up just east of town, graduating from Perry High School in 2008. She immediately took a part-time job with Peoples Bank at the Rippey branch while attending Des Moines Area Community College in Boone. After receiving her degree in 2011, Brelsford moved into a full-time role with Peoples Bank, working out of the Waukee branch as a Customer Service Representative.
She eventually transferred over to the Jefferson branch for one year. After working for Jefferson, a position opened in the Rippey location. Brelsford took the position, where she gets to interact with friendly faces and serve the community on a daily basis.
“I was so happy to be able to go back to where I started. It felt like I was moving back home,” Brelsford said.
That’s her favorite part of Peoples Bank: its focus is on the community.
“I love that we serve small towns and we are local,” Brelsford said. “We’re community-oriented. I work well with my co-workers and I enjoy the customers that walk through the door every day.”
Brelsford understands the agricultural issues and financial challenges that face all customers and businesses today.
Brelsford grew up on a family farm and enjoys experiencing the day-to-day teamwork. Her fiancé, Eddy, is now enjoying working on the family farm. She currently lives close to where she grew up with her fiancé and son. Her hobbies are camping, crafting and cheering for the Iowa State Cyclones
“The past 10 years have been a great experience,” Brelsford said of working at her hometown bank. “I look forward to serving many more years at Peoples Bank and in our communities.”
